Over the centuries, a long-standing tradition has given life to the Pictorial Key to the Tarot. The Key, in particular, has been handed down through the ages thanks to the Anglo-Saxon esoteric schools, from whence it extended to all corners of the globe.
The fundamental concept of the Keys is the profound reciprocal relationship between images and meaning.
The meaning of a card, ina fact, is not veiled by an abstract form, but rather in a precise and interpretable visual representation: in a symbolic form (where each individual element of the card contains an aspect of the meaning and an attribute of the Arcana) and in the form of illustration (where the scene itself suggests events, sensations, or an atmosphere that heightens the role intuition plays in the interpretation).
The deck designed by Davide Corsi, under the supervision of Lo Scarabeo editorial team is the most recent and highly evolved representation of the Pictorial Key. Even though it is ostensibly simple and essential, the images, realized with modern painting techniques, are brimming with real and relevant symbolism, ideas, and intuitions that can be applied to various existential levels: ethical, meditative, divinatory and metaphysical.
